The use of intense pulsed light and laser is subject to legislation, regulation and licensing in some Australian states and territories.

Although there are currently no laws regulating IPL use in New South Wales, safety guidance from the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) shall be followed and reflected in the training and assessment of this course.
